Background...

Andrew started his career at the ripe old age of seven as a chorister at Carlisle Cathedral. From there he went on to appear on television, in I.T.V’s religious programme - "Praise To Pop".

Of course as with all choristers, Andrew got to the age where his voice began to break and from there followed his parents advice to train and qualify into a mainstream profession, which he did as a chef, but the stage still beckoned and “ The Singing Chef “ became his billing matter for the next few years, as he appeared regularly in various cabaret revues. During this time, Andrew won the B.B.C’s "Search For A Star" competition which lead him on to hosting his own radio show.

With his qualifications under his belt and a career to fall back on,  Andrew went back to the stage to star in productions of “Oklahoma, Brigadoon, Carousel & Salad Days“.
The festive season was spent filming the yearly Christmas Pantomime for “ Border Television “. In 1984 Andrew decided to move further afield, and did his first summer season in Devon, at which time he was spotted by a cruising agent and from there spent the Winter on the high seas.
